| | | | Porsche 911 Pistons, Cylinders, and Heads - Page 7 | Cylinder Head Studs & Hardware | | Non-Corrosive Exhaust Stud Hardware | Phew... you finally got them off. So why put the same carbon steel ones back in? Replace your corroded factory exhaust studs with aircraft-grade ones that will last a lifetime. These non-corrosive studs are manufactured from an advanced alloy which has a high tensile strength and no brittle characteristics. All stud threads are rolled (not cut) to offer maximum fatigue characteristics while maintaining exacting tolerances.
The austenitic alloy locknuts are prepped and electroplated to create a high temperature oxidation barrier as well as an anti-galling surface at the thread interface. They can be reused or transferred without fear of damage at least a dozen times. A corrosion resistant flat washer is included to provide a smooth bearing surface for the nut. Never worry about snapping another corroded exhaust stud again. The peace of mind is worth the cost alone.
NOTE: Set includes one stud, locknut, and washer. 12 required for 6 cylinders. Not for use with thick flange manifolds. |
| PEL-CSP-EXS | Non-corrosive exhaust stud, locknut and washer set (M8 X 22mm, kit of 12, enough for one 6 cyl) [More Info] | Temporarily unavailable | | Oil Return Tubes | These oil return tubes often return oil to the ground instead of your engine case. The tubes often get damaged underneath the car and begin to leak after years of service. Replacement is a relatively easy process. For more information, please see our Pelican Technical Article, Replacing your 911 Oil Return Tubes. Use new oil return tubes and seals on your new motor for the prevention of future oil leaks.
The aluminum versions are made in America, and are machined from aircraft aluminum bar stock in just two pieces - no glued or pressed-on ends like other brands that may be prone to leaking. |

This is because the magnesium has a different coefficient of thermal expansion than the aluminum heads. The result is a gap that develops when hot, along with a leak. Fix the problem on both the lower and upper set by installing a set of aluminum turbo valve covers. On the 914-6, the lower ones need to be machined slightly in order to get them off of the heads when the engine is installed in the car. When installing, you also need new valve cover gaskets. Our gasket kit contains the complete set of new gaskets, washers and nuts for all four covers. |

The paper gasket material on the original valve covers is prone to leaking, whether the covers are warped or not. These ribbed, billet aluminum valve covers use the 964/993 rubber gaskets. The result: no more leaks! They not only look good, these covers are thick and strong -- and are designed to be the last set of lower covers you'll need to purchase. Be sure not to forget the gaskets! Lower covers sets and upper cover sets are sold separately. Hardware not included. |
