Ignition Distributors |
The ignition distributor's functionality is crucial to the performance of your engine. Consider how critical it is for the spark to ignite the air/fuel mixture precisely when you time it to across its whole RPM range. If this ignition is off by just a millisecond, performance might not be optimized or worse, detonation may occur. Over time, these Bosch distributors wear out their internal bushings and the centrifugally weighted springs lose their effectiveness. This can cause play in the distributor shaft and alter your timing curve. Rebuilding the distributor is an option, but parts are not easy to obtain and special tools may be required. At the first signs of trouble you should replace your distributor with a new or professionally rebuilt unit. This is much more favorable than being stranded on the side of the road and dealing with major engine damage.
Some older models may be discontinued, so remanufactured units may be the only thing available. Availability fluctuates from time to time since good distributor cores are sometimes hard to come by. Core charges apply to all rebuilt units. All NEW distributors include cap, rotor, points, and condenser (when applicable). |

| Distributor Dust Covers |
| Replace that often missing dust cover with one of our factory originals. The factory did put them in there for a reason - if yours is missing, then you are probably getting dirt into your lower centrifugal mechanism. |

| This specially formulated grease won't interfere with your ignition spark, or catch on fire inside your distributor. Bosch distributor grease will also not putrefy with age and exposure to the high electrical charges inside your distributor. One tube is a lifetime supply. |

JB Racing Twin-Plug Distributors |
JB Racing's 12-Pin, Twin-Plug Distributors for Porsche 911 based engines contain INTERNAL ignition triggering with an adjustable (+28 degrees) advance curve. All distributor housings are single-piece; CNC machined from billet aluminum and incorporate ball bearings, bronze bushings and internal shaft seals. These distributors are available in both small (27mm shaft) and large (30mm shaft) diameter housings for use in early and late model engine cases.
NOTE: Internally triggered distributors contain a user adjustable advance curve - 0 to +28 crankshaft degrees. |
