Electronic Ignition |
| Allison/Crane Optical Ignition |
This electronic ignition unit is sometimes referred to as the industry upgrade standard. The Allison/Crane unit works on an optical light sensor and detector, and eliminates the need for dwell adjustment. Once the engine timing is set, it should hold for an extended period of time. The result is better performance, and better fuel efficiency, as you can be assured that your car is running at peak performance. Crane/Allison systems are bolt-in replacements and can be used easily with the stock 911 ignition system. Installs in less than 1 Hour. Pelican Recommended among electronic ignition systems. NOTE: In order to have an operational tachometer, you'll need to get a later style Porsche Electronic Tach. |

| Pertronix Ignitor Electronic Ignition |
| This aftermarket unit is small enough to fit neatly inside the distributor. Replacing the points, this unit does away with dwell angle adjustment, and pitting, and unreliable ignition. Works with later 911s from this era that used points and the standard Bosch coil. NOTE: Please check your distributor number (located on the body of distributor) so we can provide you with the correct conversion kit. |

| Ignitor II Electronic Ignition |
| The Ignitor II has many of the same features as the Ignitor, but it's smarter. The Ignitor II units sense the coil current level and use a powerful micro controller to adjust the dwell. Variable dwell helps to maintain peak energy throughout the entire RPM range. Ignitor II systems develop up to 4x more energy between 3000-5000 RPM compared to standard ignition systems. High RPM performance is improved when using the Flame-Thrower II super low resistance (0.6 ohms) 45,000 volt coil. |
