Project 85: Starter System Troubleshooting

BMW E36 (1992-00)
Electricity flows in the same way water does, if you put a funnel under a flowing source of water, only a certain amount will be able to get through at a time. Voltage regulators work in the same way. Over time, age and normal driving conditions can cause voltage regulators to fail, causing over or undercharging of your BMW's electrical system. Replace your voltage regulator today and keep your BMW's electrical system in check.
Feeling drained from troubleshooting electrical problems? Perhaps your voltage regulator is not working to charge your battery properly. If your charging system is giving you trouble, then it might be a faulty regulator. Check out our Alternator Troubleshooting Table for more clues as to why your system may not be working.
