Oil Pumps and Parts

If you have got to the point in your job where you are actually holding your oil pump in your hands, if so, you should send it out for a professional inspection of the flow rate and pressure. The oil pump is responsible for the recirculation of the engine oil and is crucial to the success and life of your engine. Also always replace all the pumps o-rings, seals, gaskets and hardware while you are in there.

Oil Pressure Sensors and Switches

The oil pressure sensor measures the oil pressure and sends the information electronically to the car's control units.

Oil Filler Caps and Pipes

Oil filler caps and pipes are the manner in which oil is introduced into the engine and its sump system. Always inspect or replace the gaskets when servicing the oil caps.

Oil Level Sensors

Engine oil is stored in either a wet sump (bottom of engine) or dry sump (separate holding area away from engine). These sensors monitor and report the oil level. Don't count on these sensors for the life of your engine; make a habit of checking the level manually every third fill up.
