UUC Stainless Steel Clutch Lines
UUC's Stainless Clutch Line is used to "performance tune" your clutch control. Inner Teflon line is covered with woven stainless steel braid that will not expand under pressure.
The original clutch line is rubber and can expand under the normal pressure of use. This expansion of the line negatively affects the clutch slave cylinder actuation, and makes for mushy pedal feedback. The advantages of a stainless steel line include better clutch pedal feedback and superior clutch modulation. Results will be immediate.
    Technical features:
  • Line material fully compliant with DOT standards (MVSS-1006)
  • Lines burst-tested to 6000psi (maximum tested pressure from a BMW hydraulic system is 1200psi)
  • Teflon inner line covered with a woven layer of stainless steel and covered in an abrasion-resistant material (translucent blue plastic covering)
  • End pieces perfectly match original BMW design for easy assembly

Clutch Master Cylinders and Parts

Is your clutch release not working as well as you'd like it to? Are you a slave to your worn out cylinders? Get control with a replacement master or slave clutch cylinder. Replacing the slave cylinder is a good idea when you are performing a clutch job. With a relatively low cost, the insurance of replacing it when you're performing a big clutch job is well worth the cost. The way a hydraulic clutch works is quite simple to understand. When you push the clutch pedal, it sends fluid from the clutch master cylinder down a hose to the clutch slave cylinder, which is mounted on the transmission. The fluid, which is under pressure, forces the clutch cylinder to push out a rod, which is connected mechanically to the release fork. When the rod moves, it also moves the release fork, disengaging the clutch, and allowing you to shift. Also be sure to purge the system of air bubbles at the same time.

The clutch release arm assists in the release of pressure from the pressure plate on the clutch disk. It should be checked for cracks, wear or bending and should be replaced when doing a clutch replacement.

You should always throw out your old throw-out bearing every time you replace your clutch disc and pressure plate. A loud squeak when the clutch pedal is pressed in can indicate that there is a problem with your throw-out bearing. This can also indicated a flywheel pilot bearing problem as well.
