Changes in the fuel pressure can affect the power and performance of the engine and can be potentially dangerous. Most pressure regulators are quite simple in design, A small valve inside of the regulator allows fuel pressure to build up to the amount needed for the fuel injection system to work properly. If too much pressure is in the line, the valve automatically opens and bleeds off the increased pressure, thus keeping your fuel pressure within operating tolerances. If the unit goes bad, It can cause the pressure in the fuel lines to increase or decrease, possibly causing a dangerous situation. |
