Brake Booster  |
| The brake booster is a particularly expensive piece to replace. There is only one manufacturer of these, and they price them in the stratosphere. The good news is that these don't usually need to be replaced. Used on cars with power brakes, they use vacuum pressure from the engine to assist in the movement of the master cylinder. |

The seals inside the master cylinder act like check valves and age with time, thus letting fluid leak past when compressing, causing the brakes to feel spongy. |
