Pelican is now pleased to offer our water pump super kit for the BMW E30 3 Series BMW. Is your car starting to run hot? Over time, the bearings in the water pump begin to wear, causing them to eventually fail and seize the water pump. With the newest E30 being nearly 15 years old, its not uncommon to see water pumps on their last legs. This kit includes everything you need to replace your old tired water pump with a brand new OEM unit. This kit for the E30 even includes a new timing belt, tensioner, and spring for those of you with a 6 cylinder model. It's highly recommended you replace the timing belt at the same time, so we have included it for you! Here's what the kit includes:

Note that 6-cylinder models require a crank pulley securing tool in order to change the crankshaft seal.

Is your BMW starting to run a little hot? Is it overheating while sitting at idle? It's possible you may need to replace your water pump. An easy way to check your water pump is to look underneath the car and check for water seepage out of the pump. This is an indication that water is leaking past the shaft bearings and that the pump is on its way out. Another way to check is to squeeze and hold the upper radiator hose for a few seconds (CAUTION: hose may be hot) while the car is running. If you feel no pressure building up, it is a sign that water is not circulating and the pump may be bad. Also, always remember to clean the mating surface between the block and water pump thoroughly, and use a silicone based sealer (RTV, etc..) when mounting the pump to the block.
