Brake Pad Sensors  |
| Most BMW's are equipped with handy brake pad wear sensors that detect when the pads are worn down. Make sure that your sensors are working properly so that you don't damage your rotors, or create unsafe driving conditions. It's cheap insurance against brake failures. NOTE: Some performance brake pads do not have provisions for wear sensors like original pads do. |

Over the life of your brake disc, the heating and cooling has a tendency to 'work harden' the metal. Replacing a disc only on one side can result in uneven and potentially dangerous braking. For these reasons, you should always replace discs in pairs. Also, Whenever you replace brake pads, always have your brake rotors re-surfaced to re-true them and also to ensure proper break in of new pads. |
