Caliper Rebuild Grease |
| Brake calipers can operate at greater than 1000 degrees Fahrenheit. When rebuilding your calipers, make sure that you use specially formulated grease that will not break down under the stress of the braking system. Place the grease on the side of the caliper away from the pads, to avoid having the grease be a collector of brake dust. Also helps to avoid caliper sticking, seizure, and rust when the car is sitting for long periods of time (winter storage). Brand may vary. |

Brake Booster |
| The brake booster is a particularly expensive piece to replace. There is only one manufacturer of these, and they price them in the stratosphere. The good news is that these don't usually need to be replaced. Used on the power brake cars, they accept a vacuum hose from the engine manifold, and use that vacuum pressure to assist in the movement of the master cylinder. |

Master Cylinders |
| Are your brakes feeling a bit spongy? Feel like the pedal is pressing into a large vat of cottage cheese? It may very well be that your master cylinder is worn out. Replace it with a brand new one! The seals inside the master cylinder act like check valves and age with time, thus letting fluid leak past when compressing, causing the brakes to feel spongy. |
