Oxygen Sensors |
| The oxygen sensor actively measures the exhaust output from the engine in order to determine the proper mixture for the car. If you are having trouble adjusting the mixture on your car to proper levels, there is a high chance that you may have a faulty oxygen sensor. The oxygen sensor is located before the catalytic converter because the air/fuel mixture ratio cannot be accurately calculated after the exhaust gases have been processed through the catalytic converter. Muffler Hardware |
| Most often the hardware that secure the muffler to the rest of the exhaust is rusted and snap off at the slightest turn of a wrench. Have these on hand to replace all the damaged hardware on your exhaust and do the job right the first time. Anytime you work on exhaust components, it's a good idea to spray nuts and bolts with a good penetrant spray a few days before. This allows the penetrant to soak into the threads, preventing stripping or breaking. |
