I only know there were about 150 produced. I think your best possibility to confirm authentication is to call Porsche customer service in Atlanta, GA. (I think they have a toll free number). You can also look at the build sticker located near the spare tire; it will tell you all the option codes the car came with. PCA might also be a good source for leads. If it is a real cup car: I would assume it was originally delivered in Europe, and raced in the cup series. If that is the case the car should have a documented race history. As is the case when you buy any race car: you should have received a binder with the vehicle log books, set-up sheets, transpiration, ownership, and various other historical documentation. I just bought a race car and know it was wrecked in the first race, held a lap record for over 10 years, and was once owned by Pro-Vee racer Bill Nobel. I have a friend that owns the car Jimmy Vasser won the Run-Offs in. If Porsche can't help you, and you don't have a paper trail, authentication may be a problem. Its now ten years after the fact; the car has probably been through some changes. Other than that: I can only suggest you keep your eye out for information. Wayne at Pelican Parts wrote: > Hi there.
