From what the Haynes manual says, there are a few screws that can only be accessed by raising the headlights. A friend of mine that has an S2 suggests that its no big deal; he does his own and is not real mechanically inclined. james Reith Busby wrote:  Ge whiz I hate showing my ignorance...but I removed the four screws along edge toward engine bay but it doesn't come off.  Does the cowling piece hinge up or push forward to release or???  The owners manual does not help - in fact it says" On account of its design the air cleaner element in the 944S2 should be changed by your authorized Porsche dealer".  There are directions for the turbo but not S2. -----Original Message----- From: James at Pelican Parts < james@pelicanparts.com> To: pelicanparts@csi.com < pelicanparts@csi.com> Cc: Reith Busby < rbusby39@tcac.net> Date: Thursday, June 03, 1999 2:18 AM Subject: Re: 90 944S2  Hi Reith, You must first remove the cowling piece that sits on top of the filter, then just remove the parameter screws from the air filter housing. Should come right out. james Wayne at Pelican Parts wrote: Hi there.  I personally can't, but I will foward you to James in Tech Support, who should be able to help you out.  This information is also covered in the 944 owner's manual for your year car.  If you are interested in ordering one, please give Tom in sales a call at 1-888-280-7799, and he can get you a price on that manual.
