What John said. To clarify one point--when John said swing it out, he meant to swing forward the bottom of the panel. Then the top part slides downward. Don't forget to remove the light, unplug the wires, and TAPE UP THE BLACK WIRE'S END! This wire always has power, and you don't want it touching the body. Unless you disconnect the battery first. More on rollbar padding removal. The side panels are the easy part. Remove the seatbelt bolt, remove the screw for the "coat hanger". (I think they were originally for holding the seatbelt buckle, no way you can put a coat on them!) The panel should slide right out. The top panel is more of a challenge. There are about half a dozen screws on the underside and another bunch on the forward edge. All are covered by plastic plugs, most of which have probably disappeared over the years. The screws are Phillips-head. It is a real PITA to get the screwdriver firmly seated in the screw before you start turning it. But if you don't, the screw-head starts to strip. Sometimes it's diffi- cult to even FIND the heads of the screws... Anyway, if you remove all of them, the padding will slide forward and off. The covers for the roof clips come off with it, but you can leave the roof clips in place. I probably should write this up some time, huh? --DD Dave Darling 74 914 2.0 (decapitated) darling@simlab.arc.nasa.gov "OFF WITH ITS HEADS!"
