Unfortunately there are so many variables between a photograph and an image on a computer monitor that you can't necessarily rely on an on-line picture for real color information. Not only do you get the regular things for the photograph (film, processing, how much the processor decided to tweak the colors, etc.), but you also get things from the scanner, the JPEG conver- sion software, the browser, and even your own color settings and existing color table on your own machine. Not to say that you *can't* get good color info, or that what you get will probably be wrong--it will probably be close, but it probably won't be exact. I've only seen one or two Marathon Blue Metallic cars so far. It seems to be a fairly uncommon color. The best I can describe it is a silver with just a touch of blue in it. The first one I saw I thought was a silver car until I got closer, then I saw the blue. (It was an overcast day, too.) Hopefully that can get your internal color-table started... ;^) --DD Dave Darling 74 914 2.0 (kaput) darling@simlab.arc.nasa.gov "If it ain't broke--fix it until it *is*!"
