Parts are becoming harder to find, what with the small number of these built. 912s generally may leave you wanting just a little more power. They work hard to keep up with other Porsches, and the cost of a top-quality rebuild on a 912 engine is astoundingly expensive (Lukes and Shoreman quoted me $8,000, but a friend told me it would probably be $10,000 before they got through). You'll be ahead of the game with a nice 911.
