In addition to checking for broken head studs, an airbox pop-off valve is a nice modification to protect the airbox from destruction in case of backfire (cost about $45 plus labor, figure $125 or so total). Also look for the updated Carrera pressure-fed chain tensioners--they cost about $400 plus another $400 or so to install. Beyond that, the SC engines are extremely robust, and many of them are past 250,000 miles with no major work. I haven't seen the lobster red interior in an SC. It must be a somewhat rare option. I don't know if the 17" wheels will fit. If it has the original Fuchs factory wheels, they are a very expensive, well-made wheel (forged alloy--most other wheels are pressure-cast). The Fuchs wheels are strong, light, and will usually bend rather than break. They are hard to improve on. Hope this helps, Bob at Pelican Parts Wayne at Pelican Parts wrote: > Hi there.
