I think any good penetrating oil (PB Blaster, WD-40) would be a good idea. I would spray it liberally in all the spark plug holes, and then get a good strong battery and crank the engine for a while. Then let it sit and soak, and do the same again. The problem is going to be getting the piston rings to unstick from the position they've been in for five years. After you get it turning over good, I would try some "Marvel Mystery Oil" to help with upper cylinder lubrication. It is a good product for the application that has been around a long time. Of course, new oil and filter. You might also want to change them after you run it a few hours, to get rid of any contaminants. You are definitely on the right track with a thorough cleaning of the fuel system. Fuel "sours" rather quickly, and then begins to jell. You will also want to replace the fuel pressure accumulator. It has a rubber diaphragm that will be toast after sitting five years, and without it you won't get good starts. Hope this helps, Bob at Pelican Parts Wayne at Pelican Parts wrote: > Hi there.
