Rebodied Ferrari 330

I worked at a shop in Berkeley, CA for a little while. We had some interesting cars come in, including this rebodied Ferrari 330. I realy don't know the history of the car except that it use to be a 330. From pictures I have seen on the web, This was a street 330 that had its body changed to a race style 330. The fit and finnish could be better but the owner had to much money to worrie about that sort of thing. He also brought in a NSX for us to work on once. I have soiled my pants many a time looking at that motor. There wasn't enough room inside the shop to take a nice wide angle shot or a side shot of the car.

Now this is a beautiful view of  the engine. The hood is front hinged and limits the pictures that can be taken. This engine still looks good from any angle.

Now this is a beautiful shot of the carburators. One throat for each cylinder amkin gthe engine a V12. It's a pain to get them all in sink bue their beauity justifies it.

This is the ciew of the top of the engine looking down the throat of the engine. The tray is the seal against the hood. Don't remember how the fit is but it is missing an air filter element.

I got my boss to take a picture of me in the car. I did feel at home in the drivers seat of a Ferrari. I'll own one one day.

Here you can see the carburators coming up out of the hood throught the molded plastic intake on the hood. The probably the most unique feature on the car.

Undter the rear of the caryou can see that the car isn't kept in the best of shape. The exhaust is differnet from one side to the other. It hangs out to car and on a steep driveway it'll scrape the road.

The most famous and well known emblem on the planet.

There is how the transmission is mounted int the car. It think that it's not the stock transmission for the car especially  if you saw the angle of the driveshaft in the car. It doesn't fit in the car very well.

Here you can see the transmission cavity in the car. The owner had a shifting problem, so out went the tranny.

Close up of the pressure plate . Look at the big splines for the input shaft.

In the engine compartment you can see the horns. I have no idea why there are so many. The are air powered.

This is a picture from underneath the front of the car looking twards the back of the car. The oil pan has fins!

Drive shaft out of the car. Look how short it is.
