I'm wondering if this really is a genuine Porsche part. The cap goes on ok. One click and it's set. However, the cap spins when you try to remove it. No friction unless you push down really hard.

Change was good.
As with the past is the quality of the parts. The old ones had better change.

I don't know if it was original or not, but my car came with a generic black plastic gas cap with various warnings printed on it about using unleaded gas. This looks way better in a kind of retro way, being solid red with a metal screw assembly. The metal on metal is a little sticky when screwing it into the filler neck, but I am guessing that will get better with age .

Replace locking cap
replaced looking cap. Looks good, and I don't know if it was the cap or the fuel filter I did at the same time but the car runs better. Could have been a leaking seal on the cap.
