You have to buy this if you replace your fan switch
The newer fan switches have a smaller diameter shaft, so If you buy a new fan switch, you have to buy this nut to hold it in, the old nut will be too big. The new switches work fine even though the shaft is too small if you just buy this nut and then tighten them down good and tight so the shaft won't turn. Worked for me.
OK if you lost your old fan switch nut and buy this one expecting it to fit a factory fan switch, it will not. The fan switch and nut sizes have changed even though they are the same part numbers as the originals.
NOTE: all this is referring to an 83 911 SC, fitment may be different on newer models.
