Before you buy
I had ignition problems. First I replaced the switch. That didn't solve the problem. Then I bought the updated steering lock.which came with another switch. Still had problems. It was suggested that I replace the tumbler. Not wanting to carry another key, I was told Porsche could replace the tumbler with my original key for something like $385.00. After researching the problem on the web, someone suggested I place a jumper on the wires to the clutch switch that is a ignition lock. It worked. After spending just over $300.00, and several hours taking my dash apart, it turns out all it took was a paper clip and some electrical tape. The part clutch ignition lock PN# 997-613-109-50-m100 is about $40.00 + shipping. paper clips are cheap!

Steering Lock
The item worked and fit without a problem but I am pretty sure it was a refurbish part at least it looked it. Also id did not correct the problem I think it is in the lock cylinder. I did make a inquiry of the problem and what I needed to replace.

Fun project with my son
The instructions on the web site were pretty easy to follow, and I figure I saved 600-800 bucks in labor costs by doing this with my son.
Thank you Pelican Parts !!

No jelly beans !
Product was great job went well but the whole time I was in the garage I was missing my jelly beans that used to come in the box. That's what you munch on when you have to refresh you mind on the next step or give your ribs a rest after being upside down under the dash

Ignition Switch
It works perfectly. Now I don't have to jiggle the key out after turning off the engine.

pictures incomplete
On page 268 of project book, project 86, upper left pic, pic #1, small pic of part, included both parts. I did not receive that other part with the ignition key. input????
Followup from the Pelican Staff:   In that photo, the black plastic ignition switch is shown both installed in the metal assembly, and also next to the metal assembly. On this part, the plastic part is already installed in the rear of the assembly.
