wrong end fitting
Great product, fit all the front fuel pump fittings perfect, but the rear male fitting into the metal tube wasn't long enough to make a pressure proof seal and it shot gas everywhere, there must be another end fitting, but there's no mention of this on the product description. As for instillation; it's really easy to pull the whole line through, just drop the trans mounts and roll bar in the rear. I used 2mm spectra line and my wife was happy to feed the new hose through from the front.

Strong Fuel Odor
The reason I needed to replace my fuel line, was due to a strong fuel odor inside my car when driving. Upon further investigation, I realize that the high pressure fuel line from my fuel pump had a pin hole causing a leak, and thus the smell. Locating the fuel line was not a problem, considering as always Pelican Parts can supply just about any part you need for an '82sc. My problem, was how do you replace it. I could not find any information pertaining to the replacement of the line. Not in my Bentley Manual, nor my 101 projects. I went to the tech forum and found a wealth of information on the subject. However, there was a host of different approaches and techniques. The one I found most helpful was the writer had removed the transmission support bracket and sway bar, along with the shifter, the rear access plate behind the seats, and utilizing a stout rope or string to attach to the rear of the line, after removal of the grommetts on each end of the line, and basically he just removed it from the front via a secondary tunnel inside the car. After removal he place the rope on the new hose and reverse the procedure. This method proved to be effective. However, it was time consuming 4.5 Hoursprimarily because my wife refuse to help me, by assisting in pulling the string and allowing me to guide the fuel lines through the tunnel, saying that it too cold in the garage. Also I replaced the non leaking return line as well. This was an excellent project, one that would have been accomplished more quickly and efficiently had I had a capable helper. The lines were a direct replacement for the factory ones installed on my car. I am confident that I will never have to replace these lines again, based on their quality and workmanship.
