Camshafts |
| Original camshafts can be reground to work in rebuilt motors, however, they will never perform as well as a new one. This is because there is no way to replace the worn material on the cam lobes. While performing a full rebuild, you should replace both the camshaft and the lifters. If you regrind your old camshaft, make sure that you regrind the lifters as well. |

Timing Belts & Parts |
| Another important set of components not to overlook are your timing chains and gears. The timing chains and belts keep the pistons and cylinders aligned and running in sync. If the chain slips or the belt breaks, then the pistons will most likely hit the valves, and you will have some very expensive engine rework on your hands. Don't chance it - use new parts here. |
