For the most reliable of rebuilds, replace your pistons with new ones. If you are reusing your old pistons, make sure that you have them checked at a good machine shop to make sure that the ring grooves are not worn. Also, the cylinder bores should always be honed prior to installation of new pistons. Failure to do so may result in a new set of rings not seating properly. |
