I'm very proud of the interior in particular. I re-covered the seats and rear firewall bolster with pre-sewn kits, but the door panels were made from scratch, using the early metal window sill substructures, instead of the later all-cardboard affairs. The early door panels fit better, positioned inside the bead on the inner door skin instead of on the crest of the bead. I made the carpet pieces, using commercial grade carpet that closely approximates the original ribbed carpet, with the "directional" appearance of German square weave material. ( Being an old 356 nut, square weave carpet has always said "Porsche" to me!) I also made the console tray/cushion assembly from scratch, exactly like the factory pieces. The A/C works. I'm very happy with the car, and have another '74 2.0(ivory) on which I'll probably start restoration next spring. My ultimate goal is a six, however. This seems to be the goal of most 914 enthusiasts!
